About the Role
Resident must possess strong clinical writing and verbal communication skills, must have experience providing individual and family counseling and have experience working with persons with serious mental, emotional and/or behavioral disorders, substance use and/or co-occurring disorders. The Resident must possess skills and knowledge of successful rapport building, treatment planning, group counseling, evidenced-based counseling practices, diagnostic criteria, and assessment completion. The Resident must have knowledge of the impact of trauma on an individual’s functioning, and have experience working with diverse populations.
Requirements
Master's degree in social work, counseling or mental health nursing from an appropriately accredited college or university required..
Current Virginia state licensure Resident in Counseling required.
